Illinois Search & Staffing Association Wins National Merit Award

The Illinois Search & Staffing Association was honored at Staffing World^® 2012, the annual convention and expo of the American Staffing Association, held Oct. 9-11 in Las Vegas. ISSA received a Chapter Merit Award for its outstanding programs and chapter efforts during 2012.

ISSAboard member, Brian MacDonald, CPC, TSC, accepted the award from ASA chairman, Aaron Green, CSP, at a special award ceremony during the convention.

ASA evaluated state associations on their support of the staffing industry through chapter meetings, special events, educational seminars, government relations activities, and community outreach efforts, and honored the chapters with the most outstanding programs with merit awards.

ISSA is an association for staffing companies in Illinois. The staffing industry in Illinois employs 644,582 temporary and contract employees per year.

ASA and its affiliated chapters advance the interests of staffing and recruiting firms of all sizes and across all sectors through legal and legislative advocacy, public relations, education, and the promotion of high standards of legal, ethical, and professional practices. ASA members provide the full range of employment and work force services and solutions, including temporary and contract staffing, recruiting and permanent placement, outplacement and outsourcing, training, and human resource consulting.

We are the trade association for the search and staffing industry in our region. We are a non-profit organization set up to provide a resource for business and individuals alike who seek a search and/or staffing provider. ISSA is affiliated with the American Staffing (ASA) and the National Association of Personnel Services (NAPS). ISSA is especially proud to have earned ASA’s Chapter and Legislative merit awards.
ISSA protects and promotes the interests of both search and staffing companies. We dedicate ourselves to the protection and promotion of our members. We promote the interests of our members through legal and legislative advocacy, public relations, education, and the establishment of high stands of ethical conduct. ISSA wins awards from ASA for 3nd consecutive year! The American Staffing Association has yet again awarded the ISSA with the Chapter Merit Award and the Legislative Merit Award! A big thanks to the ASA for honoring us at the annual convention and expo, StaffingWorld!

Message from the President...

The Staffing Industry is always changing and big things are in store for us in the coming months and years. Our Federal, State and Local governments continue to challenge business practices and create greater obstacles for us to maneuver around. A strong National and State trade association is vital to the success of our industry and your active participation in both are more important than ever. We are glad that we have drawn some of the best search and staffing companies and vendors to our membership rolls over the past year. We are using their collective knowledge and expertise to strengthen the Illinois Search and Staffing Association. We have a full line up of educational events coming up this year including Updates on the Affordable Care Act, Legal Update on Employment Law, Social Media Refreshers, NAPS CPC certification course, Unemployment Workshop, and our annual Midwest Conference. Again this year we have teamed up with the Wisconsin Association of Staffing Services to put together a daylong event including 4 Industry Speakers along with small group breakout tracks on sales, direct hire and temporary specific. We have also included in our schedule several dates where you can come out and network with your industry peers. We find it a great time to share stories, share ideas and get to know the people of our industry.

Together we will achieve more and for every dollar and every minute you invest in the association, it will pay you back tenfold. If you are not active member in our National Associations, I’d suggest you consider an investment in them as well. They are also an important part of the puzzle to keep our industry strong. Our Mission is to provide services and events that will help our member companies grow through learning events, networking opportunities and having a little fun along the way!
