Norma Manjarrez, Shareholder at Ogletree Deakins
Norma regularly advises employers on various aspects of the employment relationship. She regularly counsels human resources professionals and in-house counsel on wage and hour issues, employment handbooks and policies, compliance with federal and state anti-discrimination statutes, and terminations. Norma has substantial experience handling organized labor and employee relations matters. In the traditional labor space, Norma handles a variety of matters before the NLRB, from the charge investigation phase up to and including trial and post-trial proceedings. She also oversees representation elections, leads labor negotiations, including economic and non-economic proposals, enforces labor contracts post-execution, and defends employers against labor grievances and ULP charges.
Ebony C. Smith, Senior Labor and Employment Associate at Ogletree Deakins
Ebony is an experienced labor and employment defense attorney and primarily focuses her practice on workplace investigations, traditional labor, and employment litigation. She also advises public and privately held companies across different industries on a wide variety of labor and employment issues.
Jennifer Colvin
Jennifer Colvin’s practice is focused on labor and employment litigation. She began her legal career as an Administrative Law Judge with the Illinois Labor Relations Board, specializing in public sector labor law. Jennifer joined Ogletree Deakins in 2006.
Jennifer’s current practice ranges from advice and counseling on matters such as employee handbooks, personnel policies, downsizing, family/medical leave, medical examinations, drug testing, discipline and discharge, and non-compete/non-solicitation issues to litigation and alternative dispute resolution of claims under federal, state and local employment laws.
Jennifer’s labor law practice includes advising companies regarding grievances and representing companies in labor arbitrations.
Jennifer also has extensive experience in defending tort related matters.
