Join ASA government affairs counsel Toby Malara as he discusses the latest legal and legislative developments that affect your business. Learn more about the ASA/OSHA partnership and hear about the most recent developments at government agencies like the EEOC and the NLRB. Now that the Republicans control both the House and the Senate, find out what they have in store for the next two years when it comes to issues like immigration reform, paid sick leave, and unemployment taxes.
All of the action is not just based in our nation’s capital; 2015 has been a particularly busy year in state houses across the country. Find out what states have been most active, and which states have introduced legislation that, if enacted, could mean major problems for the staffing industry.
And, of course, what update would be complete with reviewing the latest information on the Affordable Care Act. Congress continues to debate changes to the ACA, but will any of them happen? What are the chances that the definition of full time employee is changed? Is it possible that legislation will be passed to simplify the reporting requirement process, or eliminate the auto enrollment provision? And if something were to pass Congress, would the President it or send it back to Congress with a big VETO stamp across it?
And what about that little court case that has the potential to send everyone back to the drawing board.
